Microneedling
in Dartford

Controlled micro-channels that prompt your skin's own repair response, used for the look of texture, scarring and fine lines. Carried out with Dermapen by one practitioner, in one private treatment room.

What it is

Your skin's own repair response, put to work

Microneedling uses a pen-style device with very fine needles to create controlled micro-channels in the skin. Those tiny channels prompt the skin's natural repair response, which is why microneedling is used for the look of uneven texture, scarring and fine lines.

We offer two versions. Microneedling with Dermapen works on texture, scarring and fine lines. RF microneedling adds radiofrequency energy delivered at depth, to target firmness as well. Your free skin analysis will tell you which one makes sense for you.

Who it suits

What microneedling can help with

Microneedling may suit you if you want to:

  • Improve the look of uneven skin texture.
  • Soften the appearance of scarring, including old acne scarring.
  • Refine the look of fine lines and enlarged-looking pores.
  • Bring back a smoother, fresher look to tired skin.

It is not suitable for everyone. Pregnancy, active acne breakouts, skin infection or cold sores in the area, a tendency to keloid scarring and some medications may mean treatment is unsuitable or needs to wait. Your consultation confirms suitability.

How many sessions

A short course, not a one-off

The skin's repair response takes time, so microneedling is usually planned as a short course rather than a single session, with time between sessions for the skin to recover. The number of sessions and the spacing are set at your consultation, based on your skin and what you want to achieve. Changes build gradually over the following weeks, and results vary between individuals.

Downtime & aftercare

Downtime and aftercare

Redness for a day or two is typical, sometimes with a warm, tight or slightly sensitive feeling. You will be given written aftercare at your appointment. The essentials:

  • No make-up for 24 hours, while the micro-channels close.
  • Use SPF 50 daily, and avoid sunbeds and deliberate sun exposure for the rest of your course.
  • Avoid saunas, steam rooms, swimming and the gym for 48 hours.
  • Skip retinoids, exfoliating acids and fragranced products until your skin has settled.
  • Do not pick or scrub any dry or flaking skin.
  • Contact us straight away if you notice anything that concerns you.

Common questions

Before you book

What is the difference between microneedling and RF microneedling?

Microneedling with Dermapen creates controlled micro-channels that prompt the skin's repair response, and is used for texture, scarring and fine lines. RF microneedling adds radiofrequency energy delivered at depth, so it also targets laxity and firmness.

Does it hurt?

Most people feel some discomfort, which varies with the area and the needle depth. Izabela will explain what to expect at your consultation and check in with you throughout the treatment.

How much downtime should I plan for?

Redness for a day or two is typical. Plan your session at least a few days before anything important.

How many sessions will I need?

Usually a short course rather than one session. The exact number and spacing depend on your skin and your goals, and are confirmed at your consultation.

When might I see a difference?

Some people notice smoother-looking skin once the redness settles, but changes build gradually over the following weeks. Results vary between individuals.
